Moustafa Samaha is the Chairman and Managing Director of Secured Advanced Systems(SAS) since 2016. In 2010 Samaha founded SAS in Cairo. The company is active in the field of Information Technology and Telecommunications in general and in particular in the sectors of Secure Communication, Cybersecurity, HF Communication, Smart ID, Media & Broadcasting and Drones. SAS is specialized as Consultant and Technology provider for the Egyptian Market, SAS represents in Egypt different German corporates specialized in these technologies.
Samaha’s professional experience at Multinationals started in Germany in 1988 and was for more than 30 years. So, prior to his assignment at SAS, he was Senior Manager at Sirrix AG in Bochum, Germany, during this period, Sirrix AG got acquired in 2015 by Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity GmbH, Munich.
He also, had working experience at Governmental and Semi-Governmental bodies in Egypt, so in 2013, he was appointed the Finance Minister’s Information Technology and Telecom Advisor and in 2011 he was the Chairman’s Advisor and Executive Director of the Egyptian Federation for Industries.
End 2007, he was appointed the Regional Director for Middle East & Africa at IRIS Corporation Berhad, Malaysia and established then IRIS Egypt Ltd and was appointed Managing Director of the company. In August 2008 IRIS won the tender of the Egyptian ministry of interior for the supply, maintenance and upgrade of the Egyptian Identity Card factory.
Samaha’s experience with Identity Cards and Smart Cards in general goes further back since he contributed at Giesecke & Devrient GmbH (G&D). He joined G&D, Munich in 1999 as Director of Sales Telecom for the Middle East and North Africa. In 2001, he was promoted Managing Director of G&D Egypt. Samaha established G&D Egypt Services after that in Cairo, taking additionally the position of Managing Director of the newly established subsidiary, responsible for the business operations of G&D in the MENA region. In 2002, G&D Egypt Services concluded a contract with the Egyptian ministry of interior for the Identity Card factory of Egypt. G&D became to be the market leader in Smart Cards in the MENA region during his entire management period.
Before that, in 1997, Samaha was appointed Sales Director for Turkey, Middle East & Africa at Siemens AG in Munich (later Infineon Technologies AG). His responsibility included various applications of Smart Cards and security ICs. He successfully developed new business in the Arab countries.
Samaha’s working experience and patents in the Semiconductors Industry in Germany started as he joined 1988 ITT Semiconductors (today TDK Semiconductors) as VLSI-Test Engineer, where he contributed for ten years. He held senior management positions in the field of testing and quality control. His last position was World-wide Product Marketing & Applications Manager for sensors, before that he was head of the Test Engineering Department. In 1995, he received the Ring of Quality Award from ITT Corp., USA for outstanding contribution to the ITT quality program.
He founded in 2004 the Egyptian Association for Smart Cards Industry and Applications (EASCIA) and was elected for long years Chairman of the Association. He chaired at that time for several years regional Smart Cards specialized conferences in Cairo. He also was member of the Advisory Board of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce and established the ICT committee. In 2008 he was appointed by the Minister of Industry of Egypt Board Member of the Egyptian Malaysian Business Council.
Samaha holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunications from Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt 1985.
